Major responsibilities

Use data analysis, and statistical and machine learning techniques to develop solutions to minimize customer experience problems and financial risk on marketplace transactions.
Analyze and understand large amounts of Amazon’s historical business data for specific instances of risk or broader risk trends
Design, development and evaluation of highly innovative models for risk management
Work closely with software engineering teams to drive model/solution implementations and new feature creation
Work closely with operations staff to maximize decision quality and optimize operations efficiency
Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, and model development, validation and implementation
Track general business activity and providing clear, compelling management reporting on a regular basis
Communicate, persuade and influence senior management
Research and implement novel machine learning and statistical approaches

Basic Qualifications

MS in CS machine learning, Statistics, Operation Research or in a highly quantitative field
5+ years of hands-on industry experience in predictive modeling and large data analysis
Record of delivering large analytical solutions with big business impact
3+ years SAS/R/Matlab, SQL and Perl (or similar scripting language)
Communication and data presentation skills
Problem solving ability

Preferred Qualifications

PhD in CS machine learning, Statistics, Operation Research
Strong skills with Java/C++/Perl
