Overview:
The Data Warehouse Developer works to deliver Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence (BI) solutions to our internal users and private practice members. This job requires database development talent, data analysis skills, and knowledge and expertise with BI tools. This position requires a broad perspective and a willingness to step into multiple roles.
Responsibilities:
This role is primarily focused on developing Data Warehouse/OLAP solutions leveraging the Microsoft technology platform (primarily SSIS, SSAS and MDX) along with the Dundas data visualization platform. Success in this role will mean working with multiple software tools to rapidly design, prototype, and develop clinical, financial, and operational reporting solutions and custom business intelligence applications for internal use and across our family of audiology practice members.
Working in a mostly Agile development environment, this position requires a broad range of skills and the ability to work within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment with changing needs. The qualified candidate should have significant experience architecting and developing Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse solutions
Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- More than 5 years’ experience in OLAP architecture design, multi-dimensional data modeling, data mart design, data security, ETL processes and process modeling
- 5-7 years of experience being responsible for development and/or architecture in an enterprise data warehouse
- Completed at least 1-2 data warehouse development efforts with SQL 2005/2008/2012 including OLAP design (SSAS) and ETL (SSIS)
- Fluent in both MDX and T-SQL development (expertise in T-SQL stored procedure programming with MS-SQL Server)
- Extensive experience with all phases of Data Warehouse development including prototyping, data modeling, design, development, and unit testing
- Demonstrated understanding of multidimensional database design and architecture
- Strong understanding of methodologies used to implement BI solutions
- Experience in evangelizing and educating internal personnel on BI solutions can be used to improve business results
- Healthcare information systems and HIPAA compliance experience is a big plus
- Dundas experience is a plus
- Experience working in an Agile development environment is a plus
Additional Skills:
- Analytical skills and problem solving ability, including the ability to research and trouble-shoot application issues
- Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse design and solution architecture expertise
- Ability to design, organize, and implement module, perform system testing, plan and automate tasks to maintain existing system
- Software development lifecycle experience and best practices (source control, multiple environments, code migration, source control, unit testing)
- Ability to work with teamwork in small and large project teams (QA, outside vendors, project managers, business sponsors)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
