Responsibilities:

Contribute to logical and physical design, development, and implementation of large scale data warehouse
Design, development, and enhancement of data models
Design and development of database creation and upgrade scripts
Work on product engineering team to develop and deploy interfaces
Work on product engineering team to define feature specifications
Design, develop, test ETL procedures
Create and maintain SQL queries and routines
Write ad-hoc queries based on schema knowledge for various application requirements
Deal with complex data models and object relational database mapping
Contribute to operational support documentation
Identify and address performance bottlenecks
Participate in code reviews

Desired Skills & Experience

Required Experience/Skills:

Strong knowledge of object oriented design and analysis
Experience with tera-byte scale Data warehousing
Experience with Java and Java frameworks
In-depth knowledge and experience with DB design concepts
Experience with data model design for Cassandra or Hbase
Advanced knowledge and experience with noSQL database technologies, Cassandra preferred
Experience with Hadoop HDFS, MapReduce, Pig or Hive
Experience with Oracle 9i/10g+, 11g+, MySQL 4+, 5+
Experience with Unix/Linux including basic commands and shell scripting
Extract, transformation and load (ETL) applications and techniques
Good working knowledge of DB performance monitoring tools
Strong documentation skills
Excellent communication and intra-personal skills
Self motivated and a self starter with strong ability to multitask projects/tasks effectively
Ability to problem solve high pressure issues
Hard working but easy-going manner

Required Experience/Education

B.S. Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
5+ years hands-on experience in software engineering, or equivalent level of demonstrated knowledge
3+ years hands-on experience in noSQL database engineering

Preferred Experience

M.S. Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
Team leadership experience
Experience with Import/Export, SQL*Loader
Experience with Oracle tools and technolgies including ODI, Goldengate, Oracle Streams
