An immediate opportunity exists within the Nokia Store business unit for a Head of Consumer Analytics. The analytics team is responsible for using our data and analytical tools to develop business insights and make strategic recommendations. Our ideal candidate will have considerable experience both as an individual contributor and as a manager of analytics professionals.
Launched in May 2009, Nokia Store offers a range of content including applications, games, videos, widgets, podcasts, location-based applications and personalized content. Today, Nokia Store contributes over 13 million downloads a day to the App Economy from a catalogue of over 100,000 content items, and growing. Nokia Developers have access to consumers in more than 190 markets, with 90% of visitors doing so in their local language. In addition operator billing is supported in 46 countries and credit card billing is available in 192 countries. To date, more than 400 developers have achieved more than 1 million downloads through Nokia Store. Our vision is to have Nokia Store drive the App Economy in local markets around the world by expanding opportunities for locally relevant apps to be discovered, distributed, and monetized across Nokia platforms.
A successful Head of Consumer Analytics will:
Identify, scope, and prioritize projects that improve the operation and monitoring of the business, with partner teams throughout the company
Mentor and guide the analytics team on tools, approaches, and reaching clear, actionable recommendations
Work closely with the engineering and data-warehouse teams to insure quality, accessibility, and consistency of data
Help oversee development of algorithms to optimize pricing, user experience, and other complex business challenges
Communicate analytical results clearly and memorably to internal partners and senior management
Develop streamlined processes for managing a mix of planned and unplanned, short-term and long-term analytics projects
This is a full-time position based in Burlington, MA, reporting to the Director of Store.
Qualifications
- 8-10 years as an individual contributor performing quantitative or statistical analysis to deliver business insights.
Experience managing analytics staff with broad, multi-disciplinary expertise.
Ability to scope analytical projects and bring them to clear, definitive, and actionable conclusions.
Ability to translate complicated methods and results into plain language, both in speaking and writing.
Solid knowledge of SQL, statistical tools, web analytics tools (e.g., Omniture), survey tools and testing platforms.
Solid theoretical and applied knowledge of statistics.
Extraordinary quantitative intuition and strong business judgment.
Previous experience with mobile applications and analytics a strong plus.
