The Data Engineer will join an established team of engineers tasked with integration, quality, and analysis of confidential retirement plan data. Using mature custom ETL tools as well as complex raw SQL queries, this team member will exercise Ownership, Creative Problem Solving, and a Bias for Action to ensure data is cleaned and loaded in a timely manner, as well as helping implement analytics and reporting initiatives.

Run high-visibility ETL processes every day
Write SQL every day
Research and solve data quality issues
Create ad hoc data reports using advanced SQL and custom maintainable scripts
Bootstrap data warehousing and BI solutions
Creatively improve processes and elevate data quality
Work closely with software engineers and stakeholders to meet client expectations
Work fast and with focus, taming complexity and valuing maintainability of solutions
Be supported and appreciated in a small company
Work remotely, hours to coincide with Pacific Time

Requirements:

3+ years recent professional experience as ETL Developer / Data Engineer
Strong and advanced ability to read and write raw SQL queries for a complex PostGreSQL database
Python and Bash scripting to support data engineering tasks
Knowledge of data warehousing, analytics, BI approaches and tools, and pragmatic sensibility to apply and build right-sized solutions
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally on a daily basis
Experience working securely with confidential data
BS CS or other STEM
